Sacred Sun Apiary + Apothecary
Designing resilient ecosystems - in gardens, kitchens, and bodies.
Devotional plant medicine and ecological design rooted in permaculture practice.
Sacred Sun began with bees.
In 2020, during our second season of keeping honeybees, my husband and I founded Sacred Sun Apiary. The bees became some of my greatest teachers - revealing the rhythm of reciprocity, seasonal flow, and sacred interdependence within ecosystems.
A divine sanctuary humming with sisterhood & love.
What began with honey expanded into a devotion to bioregional herbalism - growing, tending, and crafting medicine from food, flowers, and wild plants rooted in place.
Permaculture deepened this path - teaching me to read natural systems and potential relationships between elements.
Sacred Sun is not simply an apiary + apothecary. It is a way of life.
Our Philosophy
Sacred Sun lives at the intersection of ecology, artistry, and reverence.
At its heart is a permaculture worldview — observing patterns, honoring natural systems, and designing in partnership with the intelligence of land.
Permaculture has reshaped how I see everything:
— how water moves
— where light lingers
— how species support one another
— how soil tells a story
It has taught me that design is not control, it is relationship.
A living dialogue between people, land, and life.
The principles guide not only the landscapes we tend, but the way we consciously move through the world:
• Care for the Earth
• Care for People
• Share resources & return the surplus
• Observe before acting
• Work with, not against, natural flow
• Catch and store energy
• Apply self-regulation & value feedback
• Obtain a yield
• Produce no waste
• Integrate rather than segregate
• Use & value diversity
• Use edges & value the marginal
• Creatively use and respond to change
Sacred Sun is an expression of these values ~
through regenerative garden design, plant medicine, food as medicine, seasonal living, and small-batch creations crafted in rhythm with the land.
It is a remembering that we are not separate from the systems that sustain us.
That how we live matters.
That the conditions we create shape our bodies, our homes, and the future of our children.
Life is not abstract.
It is a spiritual relationship and a sensory experience.
We are ecosystems, too.
In Practice
Sacred Sun is not an abstract idea. It is lived experience.
It looks like:
tending bees through the seasons
growing and harvesting food and medicine
crafting small-batch preparations in rhythm with the land & the cosmos
observing water, light, soil, and pattern
ongoing study and practice of bioregional herbalism, biodynamics, permaculture design + regenerative land stewardship
This is a lifelong apprenticeship to the natural world and our place within it.
I currently live and work on the ancestral lands of the Podunk and Pocumtuc peoples of the Connecticut River Valley — lands I have known since childhood.
A place of deep history, fertile soil, and enduring wisdom.
The land itself continues to be one of my greatest teachers.
I hold it with so much love & gratitude, always.
“Knowing that you love the earth changes you, activates you to defend and protect and celebrate. But when you feel that the earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship from a one-way street into a sacred bond.”
- Robin Wall Kimmerer
Let’s Stay Connected
Sacred Sun moves seasonally. Small-batch apothecary releases, honey harvests, and Field Notes From A Cosmic Woman are shared quietly throughout the year.
If you’d like to receive seasonal notes and be notified when offerings are released, gather around The Cosmic Hearth.
You’re welcome at the fire.
